SPRINGFIELD, IL – Ace I. McClanahan, 68, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 3, 1953, to Willard and Janette (Collins) McClanahan. He married Sharon Klauzer on May 6, 1972, in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine, Wilma, Dolores, Judy and Sandra; and brother, Willard, Jr.

Ace was a motorcycle enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Sean (Lisa), Monte (Jennifer), Ace Jr. (Jennifer), Carl (Stacy), Brent (Amanda), and Jason McClanahan; daughter, Carrie (Brandon) Paoni; fourteen grandchildren; brother, Monte (Vickie) McClanahan; nephews/brothers, Dave (Roxanne) and Wilbert Miller; sisters, Arlene (Bill) Waldmire and Karen McClanahan (Mark Rockwood); and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Mottarville Cemetery in Rochester with Robin Roth officiating.
