In loving memory of Eng. Adli Fouad Shenouda Sokkar.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eng. Adli Shenouda Sokkar, who passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026 at the age of 97 in Springfield, Illinois. Adli was born in Egypt on April 16, 1929 to Fouad Shenouda and Mofida Georgi. He was the loving husband of the late Mrs. Hayat Shenouda. Throughout his life, he was known for kindness, generosity, and dedication to Church, family, and friends.

He was the loving brother of: Dr. Fathi Sokkar in the USA (Mrs. Jo Ann Sokkar); the late Dr. Nabil Fouad (Eng. Iman Makram); the late Mrs. Eugenie Fouad (the late Mr. Khalil Kamel); the late Mrs. Bothaina Fouad (the late Mr. Riyad Gaber); the late Mrs. Nadia Fouad (the late Eng. Tharwat Boutros); the late Ms. Safiya Fouad; and Dr. Eva Fouad in Canada (the late Eng. Farouk Besada).

He was also the uncle of: Eng. Mina (son of Nabil Fouad); Dr. Isabelle, Eng. Philip and the late Mrs. Isis (children of Eugiene); Mrs. Lillian and Dr.John (Bothaina's children); Mrs. Amani, Mrs. Jihan, and Sameh (Nadia's children); Eng. Ayman in Canada and Dr. Sherine (Eva's children).

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2026, at St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, 1600 S. Glenwood St., Springfield, IL, with Rev. George Pyle, Rev. Rofael Hanna, and Rev. Mina Beshara officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

May the Lord Christ repose his soul in the bosom of our holy Fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and grant comfort to all family and loved ones.
