Amanda Burris, 33, of Dawson, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2021, at St. John's Hospital.

Amanda was born in Highland Park, Illinois on December 12, 1987. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ronald Manson, William and Carolyn Tygrett; her baby, Willow, her pup, Nikki Girl, and her brother, Timmy.

Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Burris; her parents, Gary Manson and Tina White (Chris); her many siblings, Sarah (Peter), Rachel (Eric), Nathan (Ashleigh), Amy (Matt), Andrew (Brooke); her nephews, Michael, Mason, PJ, Oliver, Jackson, Elias, Billy; her nieces, Alyssa, Lucy, Skylar, Kinsleigh, Annaleigh; her grandma, Joanne and great-grandma, Marie along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She started her life in the city but was meant for country life. Country girl or not, her taste buds always craved Chicago Italian Beefs with giardiniera and Rosati's pizza. She was a camo lovin' tie dye wearin' free spirit with an infectious laugh and could always be found with a camera in her hand. She gave the type of hug that made you feel safe in her arms. Amanda had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and she was absolutely obsessed with her nieces and nephews.

As a child, Amanda spent tons of time at the roller rink with friends, playing in the creek with her cousins catching crawfish and traveling the country racing quarter midget cars.

Amanda's dream was to grow her love of photography into a business where she could capture life through her eyes. She loved to be in the sun, boating with the people she loved or curling up on the couch reading a good book.

She spent almost every minute of the last 20 years side by side with her one and only love. Her and Wayne were inseparable. They loved sitting by the fire, maxin' on their favorite foods with all the fixin's, spending time at her dad's grilling and watching movies, road tripping to Chicago to spend time with family, and together she was proud to call themselves "Team Get Shit Done". She could paint a bedroom, change a tire, clean a house spotless, mow a lawn but she was always sure to get poison ivy. Amanda was the toughest girl you'd ever meet but always so girly with her toenails done and her eyebrows always on point.

She was the best aunt ever. You'd always catch her rolling around in the grass with the kids, swimming in the pool, making gingerbread houses, coloring and painting and always had fun crafts planned. She was sure to spend every year at the state fair with them as traditions were so important to her. Taking them camping and teaching them how to fish and hunt was always a must. There were always a lot of snacks and s'mores were definitely on the menu. She read them stories and made sure they knew that she would always be there for them. She was the type of best friend that everyone wanted. She was the girl that would make you heartfelt homemade gifts for your birthday or she would show up at your house to make you smile. And her friends would say that it didn't matter what you looked like; you were getting in the picture regardless. She was a rare soul who wore her heart on her sleeve and touched the lives of so many. She is now a guardian angel to the so many that she left behind. But she is flying high with all that went before her and she is dancing.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 5:30 p.m., with Reverend Mark Gifford officiating.
