CHATHAM, IL – Anita June Funderburg, 88, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022 at St. John's Hospital.

She was born August 15, 1933 to Roy and Ruby (Higgins) Corey. She married Richard Funderburg on April 4, 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Corey Funderburg.

Anita had worked as Food Service Manager for Los Rios Community College District. She was a member of West Side Christian Church in Springfield, Illinois, and Arcade Baptist Church and First Evangelical Free Church, both in Sacramento, California. She enjoyed reading, mentoring, discipling, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Lindau (David) Hapner of Waldorf, Maryland, and Richard (Kerith) Funderburg of Chatham; daughter-in-law, Janet Funderburg of Sacramento, California; 8 grandchildren, Megan Duvall, Christopher Hapner, Laura Funderburg, Brittany Lyons, Timothy Hapner, Marissa Hapner, Faith Funderburg and Ruby Funderburg; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
