SPRINGFIELD, IL – Anthony W. Nicks, 53, died Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born January 11, 1966, to George and Marilyn (Price) Nicks. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kathleen Leach; brother-in-law, Richard Leach; and mother-in-law, Donna Wolford.

Tony worked as a union roofer and loved to fish. He was an enthusiastic and loving person, always giving without expectations of receiving. His home was always open and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his significant other, Teri Tueth; children, Angela (Steve) Nicks-Williams, Destiny Nicks, Ashley (Sam) Whisenhunt, and Tara (Robin) Sanders; siblings, George Nicks (Pat Jones), John (Pam) Nicks, Sharon (Ray) Wake, Cindy (Rick) Gantt and Debbie (John) Wake; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
