JACKSONVILLE – Ashley L. Rutherford, 27, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 31, 1998, to Lynnann Fawns and Dennis O'Bryan. She married Chance Rutherford on June 8, 2022, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Ashley enjoyed softball, fishing and gaming. She loved cats and cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews, including her great-nephew, Waylon Jay Watts.

She is survived by her husband, Chance; step-daughter, Autumn; parents, Lynnann Fawns and Dennis (Deborah) O'Bryan; brothers, James M. Gilliam, Daniel Brashers and Timothy O'Bryan; parents-in-law, Danny and Laurie Wilson and Frank and Janiece Rutherford; sister-in-law, Holly Watts (Kendall Baunmann); brother-in-law, Jeremy (Amanda) Rutherford; best friends, Michaela Dyer and Danyell Dale; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Gemini, Noodle, Boo, Beau, Annie, Luna and Toast.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Greg Shambo officiating. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the American Legion Post #32, 1120 Sangamon Ave., Springfield.
