SPRINGFIELD – Audrey L. Jenkinson, 91, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born in White Hall on January 26, 1935, to Earl and Nydia (Smith) Allen, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Harlan Jenkinson on February 12, 1961 at Ft. Bragg, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; brother, Gene Allen; and sister, Zelma Keele.

Audrey retired from Sangamon State University. She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard. She cherished time spent with family and enjoyed the companionship of her grand-dog, Tater. One of her greatest accomplishments was taking flying lessons.

She is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Johnnie) Gargano; grandson, Harlan Gargano; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held.
