Obituary

Audrey H. Parks, 99, passed away March 25, 2021.

Audrey was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois and enrolled at Millikin University where she joined the Tri-Delta sorority. Following WWII, she worked for several years in the Design department at Kemper Insurance while first married and raising her two children. She also worked as a model for Vogue Fabric in New York City and taught art classes in Memphis, Tennessee.

A proud lifelong resident of Illinois, Audrey was admired by many friends and neighbors for her elaborate holiday decorations both at her homes in Decatur and in Springfield and at her RV community in Tucson, Arizona where she spent the winter for many years.

Pre-deceased by her husbands, Gerald Reece (Betty) in Decatur (2012), Charles Halsey of Springfield (1979), and Harold Parks of Springfield (2009); her son, Robert Reece of Memphis (1995), her brother, Dr. Robert Pensinger (Cindy) of Santa Cruz, California (2019).

Immediate family survivors include her daughter, Karen (Mark) Flinchum in Chicago, granddaughter, Melinda Flinchum Donelan, and grandsons, Russell and James Flinchum, along with three great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to convey its gratitude to the staff and administration of Heritage Health in Springfield, Illinois for their dedicated work and attentive care during Audrey's final months.

A private family memorial service at her grave site at Camp Butler National Cemetery will be held later this summer.
