SPRINGFIELD – Barbara Ann Schober, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Villas East in Sherman.

She was born March 15, 1933, to Harry E. and Laura (Anderson) Smith. She married Albert Schober, Jr. on October 12, 1951 in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Schober; brothers, Norman and Harry Smith; and sister, Mildred Thacker.

Barb graduated from Lanphier High School. She was employed by Meyer and Van Meter Tax Company for 19 years.

She is survived by her husband, Albert; children, Michael (Linda) Schober, Janet (John) Willis, Doug Schober (companion, Shawn DeVillez) and David (Kim) Schober; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Cody Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
