EDINBURG – Benjamin F. Dillard, Jr., 88, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his home.

He was born February 18, 1935, to Benjamin F. and Frances (Streeble) Dillard.

Ben served in the US Naval Reserves. He retired from CWLP as a proud member of the IBEW. He and his wife, Fran, were members of First United Methodist Church in Taylorville. Ben was very active in the Shriners, serving as past Potentate. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and shuttling children and their families to the Shriner's hospital.

He is survived by his children, Benjamin III, Gregory, Chris and Noel; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fran; and sisters, Mary Jenot and Kate Pelley.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Taylorville, with Pastor Beck Lembke officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
