ASHLAND, IL – Betty Lou Harris, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at her home.

She was born October 17, 1935, to Isaac and Iva (Campbell) Mitchell. She married James Harris on November 8, 1953, at Wesley United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald and Robert Mitchell.

She retired from Rainsoft Water Treatment Co. in Elk Grove after 25 years of service. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting dolls and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, James; children, Debbie (Dennis) Hooker and Cheri (Steve) Moore; grandchildren, Kristin Dyer and Deanna (Kevin) Kramer; great-grandchildren, Ava and Brosnan Kramer; siblings, Thomas (Carol) Mitchell, Virginia "Tiny" Morgan and Ivajean Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at Grace Baptist Church with Reverend Dave Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Williamsville.
