SPRINGFIELD – Brenda J. Goacher, 67, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Granite City on February 2, 1955, to Melvin and Barbara (Holmes) Rose. She married Richard Goacher in Springfield in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Peyton Clemons; and uncle, Delbert Holmes.

Brenda was formerly employed by Burns Security. She enjoyed playing BINGO, Yatzee, board games and card games, including Phase 10.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Jackie Thomson (Keith) and Michael Clemons (Michelle); step-daughter, Makala Goacher (Jeremy); grandchildren, Regan, Cheyenne, Hayley and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Jasik, Nikklaus and Kronin; brothers, David Rose and Bobby Rose; sister, Connie Rose; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park will follow the visitation. Renee Sanders will officiate.
