SPRINGFIELD – Caren A. Coffee, 72, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, at St. John's Hospital.

She was born June 19, 1951 to Walter and Helen (Ford) Wallace.  She was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her son, Samuel Lennen; and her companion, Larry House.

Caren was employed at St. John's Hospital for over 30 years and was currently employed at Springfield Clinic as a Compound Pharmacy Technician. She was a long-time member of Parents Without Partners and Real Life Church. She was an avid Beanie Baby collector. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cross stitch, for which she won many awards at the Illinois State Fair. Caren was a lifelong baseball fan, former softball player and enjoyed bowling. She was the most compassionate person and would give anything to anybody. Most of her life she held two jobs to support her son and provide him with everything he needed.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Katie) Lennen; five grandchildren who knew her as "Nana", Ava, Brayden, Maddie, Liv and Nora; siblings, Terry Wallace, Steve Wallace, Kay Acker and Tom Lintner; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Real Life Church with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.  A reception will immediately follow.

The family requests no flowers but asks that memorial contributions in memory of Caren be made to Real Life Church , 2701 Hermitage Road, Springfield, IL 62703.
