SPRINGFIELD – Carol S. Mitts, 58, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 8, 1964 to Thomas and Evelyn (Althoff) Stauder; both of whom preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by Forest and Rosemary Rhoades, her aunt and uncle who raised her.

Carol retired from the State of Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; son, Doug Mitts; daughter, Amanda Mitts; and cousin who was like a sister, Marilyn Rhoades.

Per Carol's wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
