SPRINGFIELD – Carol S. Wendling, 75, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 20, 1948, to Carl T. and Mary Alice (Stevens) Weitzel. She married Bill Wendling on October 15, 1966 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

She was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Lisa; sisters, Judy and Mary Ellen; and brothers, Tom, Jerry, Don, and Rick.

Carol had worked at R. H. Donnelly for 10 years and University of Illinois at Springfield for 21 years.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, William Wendling, Jr. and James (Tanya) Wendling; grandchildren, Jacob, Paige, Nate and Gracie Wendling; great-granddaughter, Vada Wendling; sister, Sally King; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
