SPRINGFIELD – Carolyn Sue McCubbin, 73, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Covington, Virginia on January 27, 1952 to Everett and Mary Jane (Simmons) Kay; both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Thompson; and brother, Bobby Smith.

Carolyn had been employed by Pillsbury Mills for almost 30 years and was a member of BYO Church. She was a Barry Manilow fanatic and loved going to Las Vegas for his shows.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Puckett, Melinda McCubbin, David McCubbin and Matthew (Terry) McCubbin; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. with a brief funeral service at 1:40 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
