Carolyn M. Vancil, 89, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024, at Villa East in Sherman.

She was born September 2, 1935 to William and Clara (Schmidt) Ryan. She married Glenn Vancil on January 9, 1954 in Cornith, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Kaye Spencer; son-in-law, Ron Spencer; son, Edward M. Vancil; granddaughter, Emmy T. Vancil; 2 brothers; 6 sisters; and her twin at birth.

Carolyn was a graduate of Ball Township High School. She had worked at Baker Manufacturing and Allis-Chalmers. She was a member of Sugar Creek Methodist Church and FOE Auxiliary 437. She had been a 4-H Club leader and Cub Scout den mother.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn; children, Glenn Lee (Nancy) Vancil, Marilyn Parnell, Laura (John) Doerfler; daughter-in-law, Karen Vancil; 8 grandchildren, Nate (Alyssa) Vancil, Katie Vancil (Fred), Brian (Janelle) Spencer, Jason (Rachael) Spencer, Terry (Stephanie) Parnell, Trevor (Aubrey) Parnell, Jake (Jill) Vancil and Dalton Doerfler; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
