On March 23, 2022, Carzella Pritchett , age 73, passed away peacefully after a long and well lived life.

Carzella was born in Chicago, IL May 13, 1948 to Christine Martin and Eddie Rowe. She was the third child and first daughter to Christine Martin.

Carzella was an industrious woman who viewed education as a life-long pursuit. While caring for her three children she enrolled in the Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Science. She continued her education, receiving a Masters Degree in the same discipline.

Carzella used her education to pursue a career as a Soil Scientist with the NRCS division of the USDA. She loved working for NRCS and did so until her death with over 40 years of service. She leaves behind many beloved colleagues and friends.

Carzella was bibliophile who could easily spend hours reading. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and raising animals on her farm. She was not afraid of hard work and was not shy about getting friend and family to participate. Carzella was a kind person, but not timid with her opinions. One of her favorite phrases before a salient and thought provoking point was "Let me say this." She will be sorely missed.

She is predeceased by her parents , two brothers; Eddie Ben Mattox and Maurice Martin, and a daughter, Kimyatta Pritchett-Oyibo. She is survived by many loving individuals including her sister Zorida Belle, son Nykile Pritchett, daughter Keziah Pritchett, and five grandchildren.
