GREENVIEW – Chance C. Rutherford, 27, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026.

He was born April 5, 1999, to Frank and Laurie (Andrew) Rutherford, Jr. He married Ashely Fawns on June 8, 2022, in Daytona Beach Florida. She preceded him in death on August 21, 2025. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Mike Lemons; and grandparents, Roger Andrew, and Nancy and Frank Rutherford, Sr.

Chance was employed as a deckhand for Osage Marine for many years. During high school, he was active with the FFA. He loved demolition derbies, gaming and cars, especially Corvettes. He adored his four cats. Chance was a kindhearted person who was loved and will be missed by many. The light of his life was his daughter, Autumn, and he cherished the time spent with her.

He is survived by his daughter, Autumn; parents, Laurie (Daniel) Wilson and Frank (Janiece) Rutherford; sister, Holly Watts (Kendall Baunmann); brother, Jeremy (Amanda) Rutherford; grandmothers, Shari (Jim) Erickson and Mary Dooley; nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Tyler (Kylee), Cooper, Jaelynn, Carson, Briella and Addisyn; beloved great-nephew, Waylon, whom he lovingly called Stink; and best friend, Allen Preston AKA Pookie.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 12 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Greg Shambo officiating.
