SPRINGFIELD – Charles William Allen, Jr., 88, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing.

He was born July 24, 1936 to Charles William and Blanche Allen. He married Jeri Edwards on March 31, 1957. She preceded him in death in 2010. He was also preceded by his daughter, Kendra Fabish; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Allen; and granddaughter, Ember Allen.

Bill was a US Army veteran and formerly worked for Fiat-Allis. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son, Dennis (Laura) Allen; grandchildren, Michael Allen (Julie), Sierra Osmer (Luke), Mikaila Fabish (Darrius), Caleb Fabish (Victoria) and Adam Allen; great-grandchildren, Ethan Allen, Raelyn Osmer and Amara Fabish; and sister, Janet Howard.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Edwards officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Buckhart.
