Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Charles I. Crocher, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at his home.

He was born December 26, 1926, in Joliet. He married Marilyn Pearce on August 11, 1952, in Chicago. He was preceded in death by his mother; daughter, Valerie Brown; and brother, Joe.

Charles enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1944. He served in Japan and later served in Korea with the 5th Regimental Combat Team. He retired in 1987 as Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a member of American Legion Post 32, VFW Post 10302, Military Officers Association, National Guard Association and Korean War Veterans. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and was an avid Cubs fan.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Doug (Coni), Rich and Greg (Lisa) Crocher; grandchildren, Stephanie Adams, Holly Crocher, Abbie Crocher and Carlton Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
