SPRINGFIELD, IL – Charles G. Wagner, 71, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, at St. John's Hospital with his wife and son at his side.

He was born January 6, 1950, to Philip and Ruby (Wilson) Wagner. He married Joy Campbell on August 14, 1971, in Griffith, Indiana. They recently celebrated their 50-year anniversary with family trips to Florida and South Carolina.

Charles was a US Army veteran. He was a truck driver for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, hunting and playing slot machines. A 2006 Alaskan cruise began his love of cruising.

He is survived by his wife, Joy; son, Richard (Carole) Wagner; grandchildren, Dan (Alyssia), Sarah (Ian), Skyla and Robyn (Brett); great-grandchildren, Jack, Parker and Adalie; brothers, Mike, Tom and Billy; sisters, Ger, Dot, Martha and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail providing military honors.
