SPRINGFIELD, IL – Christopher L. Ellis, 51, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020, at his home.

He was born January 16, 1969, to Cecil and Jean (Dewey) Ellis, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Kelly Ellis.

Chris was the owner and operator of Mr. C Painting. He enjoyed playing pool, riding motorcycles, bonfires, Da Bears and hanging out with his friends.

Chris was a free spirit and lived life for the moment. He was very outspoken and when he walked into a room everyone knew Chris was there. He loved his family and friends and would do anything for them.

He is survived by his son, Zachary Ellis; mother, Jean Ellis; brothers, Jeffrey Ellis and Cecil L. Ellis, Jr; and several nieces and nephews, Joe Ellis, Cory Ellis, Carl Ellis, Jake Ellis, Kelly Massey and James Ellis. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
