SPRINGFIELD, IL – Clarence A. "Al" Hoyle, Jr., 69, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on September 4, 1951, to Clarence and Eldora (Wooten) Hoyle, Sr. and raised in Gastonia, North Carolina. He married Phyllis Weisleder on August 20, 2000, in Peoria, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hoyle, Sr. and mother, Eldora Hoyle Mauney.

Al was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 82 ^nd Airborne. He worked as a security professional for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his children from a previous marriage, Clarence A. Hoyle III, David J. (Stephanie) Hoyle, and Melissa Y. (Nathan) Porter; stepson, Aaron Weisleder; and 11 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Military Rites will be rendered by the United States Department of Defense and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
