SPRINGFIELD, IL – Cleo Gianopoulos, 95, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Heritage Health.

She was born March 15, 1926, in Trenton, New Jersey, to John and Barbara (Giorgiadis) Gianopoulos. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Catherine.

Cleo was a member of St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed cooking and reading.

She is survived by her sister, Theoni (James) Cooklis; niece, Eliana (Bill) Callahan; and several cousins.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church, with Reverend Father George Pyle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
