SPRINGFIELD, IL – Coleen Marie Jordan returned to spirit on September 14, 2022.

She was born March 30,1953, in Joliet, Illinois to Arthur and Dolores (Paskvan) Kapella.

Coleen sought out to build a career from an early age. She spent time as a court reporter, was in real estate sales, and then commercial real estate appraisals. While working in real estate she returned to school, and earned her CPA. She had a long career as a CPA and a CIA, certified internal auditor, for several state government and private agencies. She was a fierce and progressive democrat, a tenacious thinker, a tireless worker, a devoted dog lover, and a breast cancer survivor.

She loved all of nature, and all animals. Her dedication to them always came before her personal convenience. She enjoyed all kinds of music, art, and performance events.

She celebrated her Croatian heritage with music and dance. She recently retired from work to take things easy, but knew her next adventure was right around the corner!

She was an absolute warrior in life! Her strength and integrity inspired those of us around her to always be our very best.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Ferry; daughter, Lauren Mack; dogs, Marcy and Maddie; cats, Cougar, Thomas, Valley and Pumkin; and grand dogs, Poppy and Charli.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lincoln Memorial Garden on October 27 ^th from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis or University of Illinois Vet Clinic .
