BUFFALO, IL – Cornelio Vasquez Saldivar, 78, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at his home.

He was born May 4, 1939, in Los Nogales, Agualeguas, Nuevo Leòn, Mexico, to Cornelio and Eufemia (Saldivar) Vasquez Gutierrez. He married Rosa E. Muñoz on July 11, 1964.

Cornelio was a retired farmer and a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa; daughters, Norma Cardenas, Arminda Hinojosa, Leticia Vasquez, Rosalinda Vasquez, Veronica Torres and Marla Prewitt; siblings, Juvenal, Leonel, Victor and Obidilia Vasquez; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass: 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, 730 S. 12th Street, Springfield with Reverend Kevin Mann officiating.
