SPRINGFIELD – Cristina N. Milliken, 67, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Danville on March 13, 1958 to Haven and Myrtle (Smothers) Newell, both of whom preceded her in death. Her brothers, Roger and Walter, also preceded her in death. She married Richard L. Riecks on October 28, 2014, in Springfield.

Cris retired from SIU School of Medicine after 29 years of service. She served on the board for SURS and was a member of AFSCME. Cris was previously a Longaberger Basket representative. She enjoyed sewing and making liners for the baskets.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Aaron Milliken; sisters, Penny and Connie; nephews, Jeff (Diane) Newell and John Bohlen; niece, Tonya Darling; great-nieces, Lexi and Lani; and great-nephew, Kendall.

Per Cris' wishes, no services will be held.
