SPRINGFIELD, IL – Daisy Marie "Baby Girl" Murphy, 11, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at her home.

She was born June 21, 2010, in Norwood, Missouri, to Shocko and Mazie. She was adopted by her loving human parents, Brian and Adrienne Murphy, on December 21, 2010. Her "cellmate" and brother from another mother, Steve, was also adopted that day.

Daisy resided in Springfield, but was blessed to spend many of her weekends first at the family's cabin in Salisbury and most recently at Sunset Lake in Girard. She enjoyed watching the squirrels, geese and ducks through the windows at the lake and taking boat rides. She loved to dress up in her pretty dresses and sweaters. From day one she was her mommy's best friend and shadow. She never went anywhere without her beloved "pillow." A squeaker in a toy never lasted long once Daisy got ahold of it. She was shy and timid but loved you with her whole heart once you earned her trust. She was a tiny girl but loved to be a momma bear to her brothers, Steve and Fritz, and always kept them in line. She loved to open presents, especially if it was a new bone shaped pillow, and to race her brothers up and downs the hallway at the funeral home.

Daisy loved to travel and go for rides with her head out the window on nice days. Her favorite "ride" was to Biloxi, Mississippi to visit her big brother, Jack, while he was at Keesler Air Force Base. She loved being able to FaceTime with Jack while he was stationed at various bases. She also enjoyed holiday weekends in St. Charles, Missouri.

Because of her many personalities and beautiful traits, we never knew a dog could have so many nicknames…. 21 to be exact and she would answer to every one of them.

She is survived by her daddy, Brian and mommy and best friend, Adrienne; brothers, Riley D. (Emily) Murphy and Jack D. Murphy A1C, USAF; four-legged brothers, Fritz Patrick Murphy and Steven James Murphy; four-legged nieces, Penny and Roxie Murphy; and many other extended family members and friends.

A private family dinner will be held at a later date.

In honor of Daisy, memorial donations may be made in her name to The Animal Protective League in Springfield or PAWS Jackson in Jacksonville .

Daisy's family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Dr. Martha Armour and the staff of Capitol Illini Veterinary Clinic for their amazing care and treatment for Daisy and the health issues she battled that allowed us to have our amazing Baby Girl for eleven wonderful years.
