SPRINGFIELD – Dale M. Phillips, 70, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at his home.

He was born April 4, 1954 to Floyd and Ruby (Rusher) Phillips, Sr. He married Cynthia Dickman on July 26, 1975. She preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded by his parents; sister, Zona Skeens; and brother, Floyd A. Phillips, Jr. He later married Therese Hayes on February 19, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Dale was the Executive Director of the Springfield Public Building Commission and also worked at Kumler Outreach Ministries. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he also volunteered. Above all, Dale was a devoted family man who enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, attending his granddaughter, Alexis' recitals and playing cards with his family. He also enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Therese; children, Kristi D. (Jason) Frank and Dale M. (Angie) Phillips, Jr.; stepsons, John Lee, Joe (Christine) Lee and Jim (Amber) Lee; grandchildren, Alexis Frank, Addison Frank, Kolby Phillips, Colton Phillips, Hannah Lee, Danny (Arin) Lee, Joe Lee, Elizabeth Lee, Liliana Lee, Lucy Lee, and Brayden Mueller; brother, Jerry L. Phillips; and sisters, Peggy A. Trease and Nancy (Richard) Cleeton.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
