SPRINGFIELD, IL – Darlene Hoots, 88, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Villa East in Sherman.

She was born February 8, 1934 to Orville and Lora (Teany) Burnett. She married Rev. R. Dean Hoots in 1953 in Franklin. She was preceded her in death by her husband and sisters, Clella Rose Ranson and June Jameson.

Darlene was an artist and enjoyed using oil paints. She played piano and enjoyed baking.  She was a greeter at church.

She is survived by her children, Darla (Bruce) Milner and Denise (Jeff) Young; 3 grandchildren, Jacob (Heidi) Bouvet, Brittany (Dallas) Hunter and Thereze Bouvet; 4 great-grandchildren, Gryphon, Nova, Kora and Lola.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend Paul Rose officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Butler National Cemetery.
