GIRARD, IL – David R. Drury, Sr., 83, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born September 2, 1937, to Clyde and Louise (Beck) Drury, Sr. He married Claretta Inez Kane on September 28, 1957, in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his son, David Drury, Jr. and granddaughter, Jennifer Drury.

David was a US Air Force veteran. He retired from Montgomery Ward and later retired from the Girard School District. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Girard. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Claretta; children, Geoff (Judy) Drury, Glenora Drury, Benjamin (Connie) Drury and Ian (Jamie) Drury; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, at Roselawn Memorial Park.
