SPRINGFIELD, IL - David A. Smith, 64, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

He was born November 3, 1960, the son of Don and Bette Jo Smith in Manhattan, NY.

David worked as a mobility technician for the past 21 years for various companies covering a 600 square mile area.  He served as an election judge and bought and sold antiques.

He is survived by his daughter, Mercedes (Larry) Caponigro; grandson, Lucca Caponigro; mother, Bette Jo Smith; sisters, Grace (Kevin) Hughes and Amy (Jim) Agnew.

David was preceded in death by his father, Don Smith.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, July 12, at the Grandview Municipal Building, 1620 North Milton, Grandview, IL 62702, from 12-4 pm.
