CHATHAM – David Anthony Underwood, 64, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing in Virden.

He was born August 23, 1960 to William and Louella (Jones) Underwood.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Jill Underwood.

Dave was a graphic designer and worked for Kirchman Corporation for over 20 years.  His family had a strong association with NASA and his early artwork depicted astronauts and the shuttle program. He also illustrated for Field & Stream Magazine and Marlin Magazine. He loved to hunt, fish and SCUBA dive.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; and his three daughters, Taylor (Michael) Judge, Regan Underwood and Brooke Underwood.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or Ducks Unlimited .
