SPRINGFIELD – Deborah Kay Spindler, 75, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at her home.

She was born in Carbondale on September 10, 1950, to Kenneth W. and Mildred N. (Motsinger) Summers. She married Dean R. Spindler on March 14, 1981, in Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Kendra and Kathy; and grandson, Jeffrey.

Deborah was employed as a nurse with St. John's Hospital for 9 years. She loved antiques and owned an antique store for many years. She also enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets.

She is survived by her husband, Dean; children, Brian (Kendra) Favaro, Chris Favaro and Daniel (Seneca) Spindler; and grandchildren, Samantha, Tony, Reid and Ada.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SIU Alzheimer's Center, Lutheran High School or Animal Protective League.
