SPRINGFIELD, IL – Delmar L. Ballinger, Sr., 61, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 21, 1960, to Shirley and Annis (Vollintine) Ballinger, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Paige Wilkerson on April 5, 2001, in Springfield.

Delmar was previously employed with Conrady Farms in Elkhart, DICKEY-john Corporation and was currently employed by the Springfield Park District. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a car enthusiast and animal lover.

He is survived by his wife, Paige; son, Delmar (Elizabeth) Ballinger, Jr.; four grandchildren; four brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League or American Lung Association.
