SPRINGFIELD, IL – Dennis S. Heyen, 58, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at his home.

He was born February 16, 1960, to Harold and Jean Ann (Kranich) Heyen. He was preceded in death by his father in 1993, his mother in 2017 and a brother, Dan, in 1975.

Dennis was formerly employed by SMTD and was a local musician, playing with the Mother Road Rockers. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of Southeast High School and Lincoln Land Community College. He enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by his brother, Michael Heyen; sister, Jodi Heyen; niece, Megan Heyen; nephew, Jason Cody; great-nephew, Nolan Meyer; great-niece, Malia Meyer; and many cousins.

Memorial Gathering: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Cubs/Cardinal attire and casual attire is encouraged.

Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at Concordia Lutheran Church.

Celebration of Life: 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Curve Inn.
