Diana "Dink" K. Griffitts, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at St. John's Hospital.

She was born May 10, 1950 to Elmer and Ruth (Alexander) Nelson, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Steven Griffitts on September 16, 1972 at Central Baptist Church in Springfield.

One of Diana's passions in life was being the owner and operator of the Pooch Parlor. She truly loved the time spent with her four-legged clients and their owners. She was an avid dog lover, especially Dachshunds. She was a life-long dog owner, bred and showed dogs. Every Sunday, Dink and Steve reserved for grocery shopping and preparing a special family dinner for their children and grandchildren. She cherished the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; children, Troy (Jill) Griffitts, Nikki (Jamie) Smith and Garrett Griffitts; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Karen (Fred) Lairo; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Ferris officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
