SPRINGFIELD, IL – Donald B. Egan, 85, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving, attentive family. He courageously and graciously fought his battle with cancer and leaves us all with his strength and loving memories. He was a friend of Bill W.

He was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa on September 14, 1935, to William and Marjorie (Boyd) Egan. He married Delores Mackovjak on September 14, 1963, in Eldorado, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Shelby; and a brother, Merle Egan.

Don served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BS in business. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Deborah Egan, David Egan, Danny (Cheryl) Egan, Denise Egan and Don John Egan; grandchildren, Chase, Price, Collin, Zachary, McKenna and Blakesley; a great-grandchild on the way; sister, Rosemary Geelan; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1725 South Walnut Street, Springfield. Private burial will follow.
