Donald Ray Harris, 60, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home.

He was born March 16, 1965, to Donald Lee and Frances (McBride) Harris. He married Penny Engelhart on January 6, 2001, in Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Don worked for Charles Robbins Realty for eight years and was a self-employed contractor who knew how to fix just about anything. He was always willing to help others in any way he could. Don was a great husband and father who is loved by many, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Don is survived by his wife, Penny; sons, Donald Harris, Jr., Levi Harris and Alexander Harris; daughter, Erin Maisenbacher; grandsons, Nytro Glover, Jr and Mylo Glover; three brothers; one sister; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Following the memorial gathering, a Celebration of Life will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Burger Bar, 2765 S. Sixth Street, Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
