Donald W. Skoda, 87, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Sunrise Manor in Virden.

He was born December 12, 1933, to Robert and May (Garlits) Skoda. He married Margaret J. Savage on July 28, 1959, in Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur and Walter Skoda.

Donald was a US Army veteran. He was previously employed by Sangamo Electric, Springfield Street Department, State of Illinois, Illinois Secretary of State and JC Penney.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Donna J. Riech; granddaughter, Tiffany Riech; brothers, Kenneth Skoda and Edward Skoda; sisters, Shirlee Laughlin and Ann Beyer; and many nieces and nephews

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

CDC guidelines will be followed. Social distancing and masks will be required. Attendance is limited to 50 people at a time.
