SPRINGFIELD, IL – Dorothy L. Hamilton, 105, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Heritage Health-Springfield.

She was born October 26, 1915, to John W. and Mary A. (Wyatt) Hudson. She married Lawson B. Hamilton in 1932 in Black Oak, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of Southern View Chapel.

She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia C. McGroarty and Rachel Sue (Robert) Richards; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
