SPRINGFIELD – Dorothy J. Murphy, 84, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Arcadia on the Hill.

She was born in Taylor County, Kentucky on April 19, 1941, to Gordon and Mary (Biven) Copley. She married Sherman Murphy in Springfield in 1973. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Dorothy was previously employed with Goodwill Industries and Holiday Inn East. She was a member of the Lakeside Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sisters, Sadie Barnett, Mary Black and Christine Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Park.
