SPRINGFIELD, IL – Edward R. Shelton, Jr., 60, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 19, 2017, at his home.

He was born January 4, 1957, to Edward and Kathryn (Legel) Shelton. He married Miriam Carty on March 22, 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice and mother-in-law, Catherine.

Ed was an electrician with IBEW Local 193.

Ed was loved and adored by his family. Ed's love and devotion to his family will be greatly missed. He was loyal to family and friends, had a wonderful sense of humor and made the best pizzas and soups.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam; daughter, Melody Shelton; sister, Michelle (Juan) Reza; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
