Elizabeth Joyce Burmeister 93, died peacefully at her home in Pekin, Illinois on June 30, 2025.

Elizabeth was born November 11, 1931 in Pleasant Plains, IL, the daughter of Moses Blakeman and Lena Hackard of Pleasant Plains, IL. She married Donald James Burmeister September 6, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield. She raised nine children and she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Donald James Burmeister; her son, David James Burmeister and her granddaughter, April Lynn Mooney.

She is survived by three sons, Michael (wife, Heidi) Burmeister of Pekin, Donald (wife, Lynn) Burmeister of Washington, IL, and Mark Burmeister of Pekin, IL; five daughters, Patricia (husband, Stephen) Hohstadt of Eureka, IL, Kathy (husband, Mike) Rodier of Georgia, Mary (husband, Mike) Smith of Pekin, Peggy Nelson of Peoria and Theresa (husband, Dan) McCabe of Dahinda, IL; twenty-one grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Manny Cuizon officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
