CHATHAM, IL - Elyn Mae (Chatman) Broughman, 39, of Chatham, Illinois passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was born January 17, 1981 in Danville, Illinois.

She married the love of her life, John Broughman, on September 9, 2000 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Oakwood, Illinois.

He survives, along with her pride and joy, children, Zane, Jonah and Elyson. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Chatman; her sister, Carly Chatman-Garcia; mother-in-law, Carol Hunt; in-laws, Maurice and Pat White; along with many other extended family members and friends who were like family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthel Chatman and her sister, Marlow Chatman.

Elyn grew up in Danville before she and her family relocated to Chatham. She was employed by Springfield Clinic and Memorial Medical Center.

Elyn was an exceptional mom to her kids and more than anything else, loved spending time with each of them. She was an energetic, outgoing, funny, personable and above all, extremely loving person. She will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to know her.

The family will be celebrating her life privately but will plan to celebrate and remember Elyn with friends and extended family at a later date.
