SPRINGFIELD, IL – Ethel L. Fondel, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born May 21, 1932, to Calvin and Eva (Colburn) Smith. She married Douglas Fondel in 1977. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Debra Ebright; son, Darrell Sullivan and grandsons, John, Chris, Sam and Stephen.

Ethel was a member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary. She was a caregiver and was always helping others. She enjoyed camping.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Sullivan, Rhonda Green, Tamie Sullivan (John Baker) and Janice (Larry) Nesch; grandchildren, Michael, Sherry, Brandy, Stephen, Eldon, Kevin, Brittany, Darrell, Kira and Shane; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jeremy, Kaylee, Marissa, Ethan, Della Rose, Daxen, Jason, Kaitlin, Jayda and one on the way; great-great granddaughter, Reyna; brother, Pearl Smith; sister, Grace Harp and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service: 1 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017, at Roselawn Memorial Park.
