Fritz Patrick
Murphy
Sep 1, 2008 — Sep 8, 2023
Springfield
Sir Fritz Patrick Murphy, 15, passed away peacefully in his Daddy's arms on Friday, September 8, 2023.
Fritz's beginning is a bit of a mystery to us. We know he was born in Southern Illinois on September 1, 2008. Fritz rescued his humans, Brian and Adrienne Murphy, on December 17, 2017, at PAWS Jackson in Jacksonville. He was preceded in passing by his beloved baby sister, Daisy and cousin, Mary Jane.
Fritz resided in Springfield but enjoyed many weekends at his home at Sunset Lake. Most recently he enjoyed frequent road trips to St. Louis with his family for the St. Louis City soccer games, with a visit to Schafly's as a highlight on a recent trip. He loved traveling, especially to Biloxi, Mississippi, Western Kentucky on the Bourbon Trail, and to St. Charles, Missouri for the annual Murphy Family Thanksgiving Weekend. His favorite pastime was chilling on the couch at the lake house with his momma on her cardinal blanket. Or maybe it was keeping his brother, Steve, in line. He enjoyed both…LOL. Fritz was a sweet old soul with the softest floppy ears.
He is survived by his parents, Brian and Adrienne Murphy; brothers, Riley (Emily) Murphy and Jack D. Murphy, SrA, USAF; four-legged brother, Steven James Murphy; nephew, Mason Murphy; four-legged nieces, Penny and Roxie; and many other extended family members and friends.
A private family dinner in his honor will be held at a later date.
In honor of Fritz, if you are so inclined, we ask the memorial contributions be sent to PAWS Jackson in Jacksonville, Illinois. Without them, Fritz would not have lived his last several years being spoiled, as he well deserved.
Fritz's family would like to extend a grateful thank you to Capitol Illini Veterinary Clinic for their ongoing care, and to Dr, Kilty and Five Star Veterinary Center for the care and love given to Fritz in his final stages of life with us. He was never a fan of going to the doctor until he met the "ladies" at Five Star. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
