SPRINGFIELD, IL – Gene Lindsey, 85, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at River Birch Senior Living.

He was born October 3, 1932, to Howard and Leona (Stephenson) Lindsey. He married Norma Hartsock on August 10, 1951, in Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a sister, Joy.

Gene served in the U. S. Naval Reserve. He was formerly employed by Kent Lumber in Flanagan, IL. In 1994, he retired from J. H. Patterson in Huntley, after 30 years of service. He was a member of American Legion and Eagles Club.

He is survived by his children, Philip (Karen) of Bluffton, SC, Greg (Cathy) of St. Paul, MN, Scott (Pam) of Huntley, David (Beth) of Deerfield, Sara of Woodstock, and Bruce (Margie) of Barrington; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.
