SPRINGFIELD, IL – George Myron Hedrick, 62, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his daughters.

He was born August 25, 1958, to George H. and Elizabeth (Drake) Hedrick, both of whom preceded him in death.

George was a bricklayer with BAC Local 8. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to fish and swim. He took pride in teaching his daughters the many trades he knew and perfected. He was known for his contagious laugh that he passed down to his girls.

He is survived by his daughters, Heidi (Matthew) Stults, Shalean (Nick) Cook and Karly (Tony) McLaughlin; grandchildren, MicKayla, Robert, Gavin, Madison, Kennedy, Alivia, Ella, Fitz, Katelyn, Austin, Sean and Christopher; and sister, Beth (Richard) McQuern.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
